Libra New Moon: Mirror Magick, Sacred Rituals & Finding Inner Balance

The New Moon in Libra on October 10th, 2026 offers a powerful celestial reset focused on partnership, balance, and self-realization.  

Libra is here to guide with grace, to offer kind and clear reflection, to balance the needs of self and other. She is a guardian of peace and a protector of justice, and she makes effortless beauty along the way. Ruled by Venus, Libra is a lover of the sense and the arts through and through. While we may think of beauty in aesthetics, appearance or physical artistry, Libra urges us to consider a different kind of art. As the ruler of marriage, she reminds us that beauty and healing can also come in the form of ceremony and ritual that bind us closer. This new moon is an invitation to weave ceremony into our relationships with lovers, friends, family and the community at large. You might light a candle, dress a beautiful Harvest table, or create a ritual of connection at Samhain, all in the name of the beauty way.

Rituals for the Libra New Moon

1. Mirror Magick

Sit before a mirror in candlelight. Gaze into your eyes & speak one affirmation at a time:

“I am harmonious when...” Listen for a response from your older, wiser self.

“I am most balanced when...” Listen again.

“I am my truest self when...”

Let her voice, her presence, echo back to you. Write down what she offers, and trace a heart or sigil onto the mirror with rosewater or oil to seal the exchange.

2. Harvest Beauty Way Altar

Gather items from nature like petals, stones, leaves and branches, arranging them into a sacred mandala or altar space. Perhaps for your Samhain harvest table. As you create, infuse each item with gratitude for the beauty that surrounds you and dwells within you. Try to maintain sacred balance. This is the ancient Beauty Way: honoring the sacred spark of life in all things, most especially those from Great Nature. Sit quietly when finished, and let your heart feel the harmony you have woven.

3. Scales of Ma'at

Libra calls us to balance, echoing the wisdom of Ma’at, the Ancient Egyptian goddess of truth, harmony, and cosmic order, who carried the sacred feather of balance. Place what you wish to release in one bowl, what you call forth in the other. Hold a feather in your hand, or lay it across the bowls, and feel the scales tip, lifting what no longer serves and grounding what is sacred. Speak aloud:

“By the scales of Ma’at and her feather of truth, I release and I receive. I step into sacred balance.”
