What the New Moon in Aries means for you

What does the New Moon in Aries mean?

The New Moon in Aries is a powerful astrological event that occurs when the Moon aligns with the Sun in the fiery sign of Aries. It initiates the beginning of a new lunar cycle with the bold, confident, and assertive energy of Aries.

While normally New Moons (especially an Aries New Moon) is a time for taking action, setting intentions, and pursuing your goals with passion and enthusiasm, we’re also at entering an eclipse season. Eclipse seasons tend to have more chaotic energy, so it’s a good time to reflect and get clarity before moving onward and forwards.

New Moon in Aries and its Challenges

During this New Moon, you may feel an increased sense of restlessness, impatience, and a desire for change. It's important to harness this energy and channel it in a positive direction. Take time to reflect on your goals and aspirations, and create intentions that align with your values and desires.

New Moon in Aries: Suggested Rituals

In normal circumstances, and outside of an eclipse, during a New Moon in Aries, you can embrace the energy of this phase of the lunar cycle and celebrate it with rituals that help you cherish this time of new beginnings, growth, and renewal.

Here are some examples of New Moon in Aries rituals (for eclipse season) to help you connect to the New Moon energy:

  1. Focus Intentions on Change: If you’re going to set any intentions during this time, let them be for bigger changes to come - for your and all others’ greatest good. You can do this by simply writing down your intentions or wishes on a piece of paper and by placing them under a grounding stone (such as Hematite). You can also speak these intentions out loud or in meditation. Consider making these intentions slightly less precise than you might normally, allowing for the wild way of the eclipse season to do what they must.
  2. Fire Ritual: Creating a small fire ritual to help cleanse the space and the place you are in can be quite powerful. While this isn’t a time to do a big release ritual, it can be a great time to work with the power of the element of fire and create for yourself a deeper connection to your current experience as it relates to change and Aries energy.
  3. Journal with Intention Around Anger: Reflecting and writing around the topic of anger can be especially potent at this time. Sacred rage is something to be honored and recognised - how can you shed light on it at this time and work with it in a healthy way?
  4. Build Fire through Movement: Move your body in a way that creates the fire within - maybe its a brisk walk, some power yoga, a high-paced run, or perhaps it’s sitting in meditation in a sauna. Work with the heat to transmute and change anything that is laying stagnant within your physical body at this time.

New Moon and Intuition

Remember, the most important thing is to follow your intuition and create a ritual that feels authentic and meaningful to you. This New Moon is also a time for self-discovery, introspection, and self-reflection. Take time to explore your inner world and connect with your intuition. Trust your instincts and follow your heart, even if it means taking a path that is less conventional or requires courage.
